Stop Being Lazy!!

Happy Friday and blogmas day 15!!

I have to admit that I’m preaching to myself in this post, but I know I’m not the only person that needs to hear it.

When my brother and I were younger, my mom would tell us what to do and we would say okay, but we would continue to do whatever we were already doing. My mom would tell us again and we would tell her that we were going to do it eventually! Eventually never came….

smh

Almost every time that we procrastinated and didn’t do what she asked of us right away, it never got done. She ended up having to remind us AGAIN hours or days later. Unfortunately, I found myself doing this with God, especially when it comes to blogging. God usually gives me broad topics to talk about or He will give me a book of the bible to read and find my message. I have to admit that I get really lazy and want Him to just tell me exactly what it is people need to hear. I don’t like having to work for it.

How long will you slumber, O sluggard_ When will you rise from your sleep_ A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep - So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler,.png

I’m a terrible procrastinator but I promise that I’m working on it! The problem with that, when it comes to blogging, is that God gets tired of reminding me and the message never gets shared….by me! I add that last part in because I believe that God is on a mission, and if one person is not willing to do what He asks of them, He will find somebody who will. This is great, however I could have reached people that somebody else cannot. As I said in a previous post, our disobedience hinders us from being the answer to somebody else’s problem!

I want to encourage you today to stop being lazy and to hold yourself accountable. This applies to every aspect of your like – school, blogging, exercise, etc. Proverbs 13:14 says, “The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.”

So from today on, let’s work on not being lazy and being more diligent!

  1. This hit me right in my chest! I know that God definitely put this in front of my face intentionally because of how relevant it is to my life right now! Great post!

  2. Hello, this is a great message! I think being lazy sporadically is human, but we need to know when to stop. This blog is a reminder to do thing now when you have the time. After all, tomorrow is not promised.
