It’s Blogmas Day 16!

Today I’m bringing you all my winter skin care routine. In the winter, I mostly focus on keeping my skin hydrated and moisturized, as well as reducing my dark spots. All of the products I use are super affordable and I’ve written where you can buy them. This post may contain affiliate links, meaning that I will receive a small commission if you purchase through them at no additional cost to you!

Also, if you haven’t subscribed to my mailing list please do so here. I will be trying to send newsletters weekly with encouraging messages and blog updates. I’ll also be using it to get some feedback from you all. Our first newsletter will be sent out Sunday at 6p.m. so please subscribe before you leave this post!

So with all that said, let’s get into my skin care routine..

Night Time

The first thing that I do at night is cleanse my face. If I’m wearing makeup I will remove it using the e.l.f. Hydrating Gel Melt Cleanser. I love it because it’s super gentle and removes makeup easily. After that, I wash my face with the Mary Kay Timewise 3-in-1 cleanser. I like this cleanser because it cleanses, exfoliates, and freshens your skin all at once. If I’m not using makeup, then I’ll just wash my face with the e.l.f. cleanser.

Night time is when I usually apply a face mask and the one I’m loving at the moment is the Freeman Sweet Tea & Lemon Peel Away Mask. This mask literally peels off everyyyyyything! It also tones, refines pores, and helps to lighten dark spots which is why I like it the most. I usually only use this mask on the days that I wear makeup.

After removing the mask, I use a toner. The one I use is the Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner . I like this toner because it’s 100% natural and it’s not harsh. It claims to gently cleanse and condition pores to maintain clear, smooth and balanced skin without overdrying. I do find that my skin does get dry after using this, but it’s not overly dry!

Next, I apply my serums. My two go to, ride or die serums are Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid. The brand that I’m currently using is The Herbiarie. I get all of my serums from Marshall’s because they are much more affordable than getting them from places like Ulta or from the company’s themselves. Vitamin C helps reduce dark spots and create smoother skin, while Hyaluronic Acid plumps the skin and keeps it moisturized.

Last but not least, I moisturize my skin. At night, I use an oil to moisturize. The oil I’m loving currently is the Rosehip Hydrating Oil by Measurable Differences. I love this oil because it’s moisturizing but not too heavy. It makes my skin glow, helps fade dark spots (are you noticing a trend?), and it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Also, if you are an oily girl don’t be afraid of facial oils!! The right ones can help combat your oils so I highly suggest that you look into them.

Now onto my morning skin care routine….

In the morning I wash my face with the e.l.f. cleanser first. Then I apply the Dickinson’s toner and both of my serums.

Next I apply a sunscreen (sidenote: if you are of a darker complexion, YOU STILL NEED SUNSCREEN! Stop skipping this step). The sunscreen that I use is the Mary Kay Timewise Day Solution Sunscreen. It contains spf 35 and I like it because it doesn’t leave my skin looking gray. I don’t know if you’re supposed to do sunscreen before moisturizer or vice versa, so if you know then help me out!

Lastly is moisturizer. I use two moisturizers in the morning: Palmer’s Cocoa Butter and Mary Kay Timewise Age Fighting Moisturizer. I apply the Mary Kay one first because it is much lighter and I finish with the cocoa butter. I live in Michigan so it’s super cold in the winter. The rosehip oil is a little too heavy to wear during the day so I just apply two moisturizers instead.

That concludes my winter skin time routine! What is your favorite skin care product at the moment?
